Queen Elizabeth once said, “1992 is not a year on which I shall look back with undiluted pleasure. In the words of one of my more sympathetic correspondents, it has turned out to be an annus horribilis.”

Annus horribilis is a Latin phrase, meaning “horrible year” and being a major fan of the Series – The Crown, I wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity of quoting her majesty – as I feel the same about 2020.

2020 has been one hell of a horrible year for mankind. A virus has taught us how insignificant and ignorant we have been. Irrespective of the advances by the scientific community they have been a step behind the forces of Mother Nature. COVID-19 – A virus that put the world at a standstill: A scenario we never envisioned in our wildest dreams.

But aren’t we all glad this year is finally getting over and with the hope of getting ourselves vaccinated soon enough. YES!! Irrespective what the naysayers may say I am going to get myself vaccinated as soon as I can lay my hands / bum whichever way it’s going to be administered on.

Before this year ends lets pray for the ones we have lost or whose life have been scarred by this deadly disease. Loss of family, friends, jobs and incomes wrecked all of us emotionally.

On the flip side let us thank God for making us sail thru this year alive!! We will heal at our own pace, for that is the human spirit – To Fall, To Stumble and To Rise Again. We will be the living embodiment of the Pandemic tales that we shall regale our future generations with.

Lets us drown the unpleasant memories of 2020 in the festive spirits of our choice and usher in a promising 2021!!
