Dr. Ashok Gupta Sir

I am truly blessed to have been graced by Sir’s light—an extraordinary light that illuminated our Rotary world and far beyond. It was no ordinary light, for it symbolized living truths, eternal principles, and unwavering integrity. It reminded us to walk the righteous path, to correct our course when we faltered.

We will carry forward the mission he so passionately believed in. He instilled strength and shaped us with his affection and mentorship. He was the reason I became District Governor. Who will now comfort me with those words, “Chinta mat karo, sab theek hoga”?

He had an unparalleled connection with our clubs and Rotarians. He understood our pulse, our aspirations, and even our struggles. His intuition was a gift we could only dream of possessing. Life to him was black and white—clear, uncompromising, and honest. He taught us not just how to lead but how to live. Even in positions of power, he carried himself with humility, kindness, and grace—the hallmarks of a truly great soul.

I cherish the little things—the paan from his favourite shop he brought for me, the moments we shared over certain mouth freshener, which I always kept ready, knowing how much it meant to him. These small gestures spoke volumes about the giant heart within him. He was a fighter, embracing challenges with unmatched vigor. And yet, this final battle with the Almighty proved unwinnable, and we lost Sir.

Today, I take this opportunity to say “thank you,” though it feels utterly inadequate for a soul who gave so much to all of us yet we must also celebrate the blessing of having known him at all. His memory is a treasure that we will carry forward—a beacon of light.

I hope his memory of us will always remain a happy one: an afterglow of smiles when life is done, an echo of laughter and sunny days that brightened our Rotary family.

His values, His legacy—they will endure, as timeless as the ideals he lived by. Schools, institutions, and organizations will bear his name with pride, but more importantly, we carry him in our hearts.

A very Happy Birthday Sir !!
